Freelance DevOps Engineer - Greenfield Project - Long Term

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale greenfield project focused on designing and upgrading a modern Kubernetes-based container platform. This role is highly hands-on and will involve building, upgrading, and optimising container infrastructure from the ground up, using DevOps and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters in a greenfield environment.
• Plan and execute Kubernetes version upgrades and platform modernisation.
• Improve cluster scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Support containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes-native tooling.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for container build, test, and deployment.
• Work with Git-based workflows and DevOps best practices.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or similar.
• Automate cluster provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
• Reduce manual intervention by introducing repeatable, automated processes.
• Implement Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, secrets management, network policies).
• Support platform observability, monitoring, and logging.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
